Who We Are

Humane Society International India (HSI/India) is an affiliate of Humane Society International (HSI), which, along with the Humane Society of the United States, forms the world’s largest animal protection organization advancing the welfare of animals in over 50 countries. Humane Society International is one of the few global animal protection organizations working to promote the human-animal bond, rescue and protect dogs and cats, improve farm animal welfare, protect wildlife, promote animal-free testing and research, respond to natural disasters and confront cruelty to animals in all of its forms.

A primary focus for HSI/India is to reduce the consumption of animal-based products by supporting the creation of viable alternatives. This program will empower eligible entrepreneurs to reach the next step of venture growth — convert ideas to prototypes, prototypes to pilots and pilots to scale-up. The Humane Entrepreneurship Program ecosystem of capacity builders, investors and domain experts will aid in transforming ventures. Through this program, HSI/India will enable entrepreneurs to scale humane businesses in the Indian startup ecosystem and aid in the creation of viable market alternatives for animal-based products.
